Labor Day

On Labor Day we went to the plane museum at Hill Airforce Base and then to the Ogden Dinosaur Park. The park was sort of Parker's holy grail. Life-sized dinosaurs everywhere. He was in heaven.

Bear Lake and This Is the Place State Park

We went with some family down to Bear Lake for a weekend. The kids had lots of fun on the beach and riding around in the boat. I'm not much of a sun/beach person, but I made it.(: A few weeks later, we took the kids to This Is the Place State Park. They have a lot of neat things to do that I had no idea were there. Makenna rode a horse there named Banjo and now yells, "Banjo!" whenever she sees a horse.

And We're Back

I will try not be such a lazy blogger anymore. I don't have any pictures but the kids have said some pretty funny things lately.

One night Andrew and I were tucking Parker into bed. Parker leaned over to me and whispered, "Mom, dad is missing some of his hair." I am not making this up. It really happened. Poor Andrew.

This morning I was running my hands through Makenna's hair as she was petting Sadie. She pulled my hand away and said, "Stop petting me, mom!" I'm a girl, not a dog!"

You gotta love my silly, sassy kids.

Our Trip to Moab

Last week we headed out to Moab on a little family vacation. We got to hike around in Arches National Parker and Cayonlands National Park. We even camped (for one night). We aren't brave enough to do more than that with the kids. One night is enough. The second night we got a hotel room (my idea, very smart). Parker was in heaven running around everywhere and climbing on everything. Makenna wasn't so sure and wanted to be carried a lot. It's so gorgeous out there! We are lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the county. On our way back home we stopped at the dinosaur musuem in Price. We had the whole place to ourselves! We even took some pictures of "snuggle duck". For those of you who don't know him, he's been Makenna's best friend basically since birth. He goes everywhere with her. Even throwing him in the wash is a big deal for Makenna and it always involves tears. He's pretty much had the yellow loved off of him, his legs are coming apart, and his beak has had to be repaired several times but he's Makenna's favorite thing. Of course, he came on our trip and we decided to snap a few shots of this important memeber of our family.(:

Long Time No Blog

So Andrew's been 30 for a while now. Maybe just maybe I should update my blog. There really hasn't been much going on. I'm just chugging away at school. The kids are doing great and Andrew's freezing his buns off selling. Parker had a fun time in swimming lessons and I have him signed up for soccer this spring. Makenna is still her ridiculously gorgeous, crazy self. Sadie is back to sleeping in our room at night because we missed her puppy snoring.(: Today was gloomy and snowy so the kids had a movie party in our bed. There's nothing like watching a movie on a yucky day.

Our December So Far...

Parker's preschool had his Christmas program. He was so cute! He was very focused on watching his teacher to sing all the right words. He sang out loud and clear. Maybe watching me sing all the time is rubbing off on him.(: We were really glad that most of his grandparents could make it to watch him.

Makenna face-planted while jumping off the couch last Sunday. She really gashed up her lip but luckily it didn't go through her chin.

Parker turned the rocking horse into a rockstar horse.(:

We had some fun in the snow. Or should I say, Andrew and Parker had fun in the snow. Makenna is still not sure.

The kids decorated the Christmas tree. It still looks like that. I just haven't had time to decorate it so it's been up like this since the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I know you are all jealous of it's beauty.(:

And...I finished my first semester back in college! It was so hard and so great! I scored high enough on my vocal final to be officially accepted into the the vocal performace program! They make you do two auditions: one to get in initially and one after your second year. This was my second, so I'm in for good! I thought about how easy it would be to quit every week, but really I'm just loving it. I can't explain how fulfulling it is to finally be pursuing a dream I've had since childhood. Well, I guess that's it. Merry Christmas everyone!

Aquarium

We took the kids to the aquarium in Salt Lake since it had been quite a while since we last went. They have a cool new exhibit with Caymans and cool stuff I can't spell. The kids had a great time. It was sort of a "whirlwind" tour though because they just ran from one thing to the other. Some of my favorite "Parkerisms" while we were there are: "This place smells like dinosaurs" and "Look there's an X-ray!" (when he saw a manta ray) Can you tell someone has been working on their letters.(:

Parker looks freaky in this picture! He was protesting the whole picture taking thing.

Makenna was a big fan of the giant frog.

She's irresistible!

The X-ray!

An Early Start

The kids really want a play kitchen for Christmas so we decided to make sure that Santa knew by sending him a letter.

(Parker's picture is of he and Makenna playing with their stove and plates...just if you were wondering)

Busy August

Prepare yourself for a picture overload. Here are all the captions, in no particular order: We stood in a REALLY long line at the dino museum, Andrew and I got some much needed R&R on our vacation to Cedar City, we had lots of fun with cousins, Parker's first day of preschool this year, and Makenna being gorgeous as usual. I should probably write some more, but I'm too busy getting ready for MY school to start in less than a week! Yikes!
