Birthday Invite
Today I was asking Parker which friends from school he wanted to invite to his party. He told me a few and then I asked him if there was anyone else from school he wanted to invite. "Sadie", he said (Sadie is our dog). After a quizzical look from me he explained, "you know, Sadie...from the backyard." Some friends you know from school, others you know from "the backyard".(:

Fun Stuff
We have had a fun and busy week! The kids got to go with their favorite auntie Mamie and Uncle Ammon(: to a birthday party at a little water park last Saturday. Jamie and Adam are so sweet to watch Parker and Makenna a lot for me and the kids just adore them. I tell Jamie that she saves my life on a regular basis and it's true. I'm lucky to have her and lucky that Adam shares her with me so much. Love you guys!
Then yesterday we took the kids to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house and to a FHE dinner and park trip with the Barnes family. The temple was gorgeous, I loved being there and felt the spirit just looking at it. The kids were, well, lets just say they weren't terrible. PS-We missed you, Danielle! Then we headed to the Barnes to play with cousins and the kids had lots of fun playing in the stream. Parker got thoroughly soaked but enjoyed every minute and Makenna even got in after a few minutes and liked it until she fell in.

I went to the Michael Jackons memorial!
It's true! I went! It all started when my friend, Reagan, asked all of her friends to enter their email addresses into the lottery for the memorial tickets. I did and thought, that would it would be fun if I won. After 1.6 million people also entered their names, I was pretty sure that there was no chance of me getting picked. But sure enough, Sunday afternoon I check my email and I had scored tickets! I ran in an told Andrew, who thought it was a scam! I took Reagan because she was the reason that I won the tickets and she's also an MJ superfan. I flew in Monday night, It was so wonderful to spend the evening before with my sweet, handsome, amazing brothers-in-law, Spencer and David! Thanks for having us you guys! Then the next morning we were out the door by 7am to make the memorial. That part was crazy! Helicopters and media were everywhere! Lots of lines and hoards of people. The memorial itself was really neat. Entertaining and classy. People were bawling all around me. I didn't. My favorites were Stevie Wonder and Usher. They rocked it! It was cool to be there for that moment in history and to hear personal stories of a man that was so bigger than life. In my opinion, Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer of all time and I'm sad that his life and creativity were cut short. Mostly I'm sad for his kids. I know what it's like to lose a parent and I can only image how much harder it must be to lose your only parent so young. His daughter was the only one in the memorial who brought me to tears. A big, huge thanks so those of you who watched my kids so that I could go!

4th of July
We had a really great 4th of July this year. It was my first 4th of July in UT in I think 8 years and Andrew's 1st in 10 years. Andrew was really excited to see the Freedom Festival parade. He grew up in a house just off the parade route, so it was tradition for his family to go every year. It was fun to go with the Barnes and see many of the neighbors that Andrew grew up with and a few of his good friends since childhood. The kids were so good during the parade! They loved it. Then we headed to Andrew's sisters for a bbq. Parker and I got addicted to Rock Band and we just hung out and enjoyed being with family. Parker was super into the fireworks this year. His inner pyro is coming out, I guess. It took Makenna a few minutes to get used to all the loud noises, but she ended up liking it too. I'm so glad to live here in the US. It truly is the best place in the world!
