I am totally in love....

with my nephew!

It's he the cutest! He also happens to be the most good natured baby ever (I'm not biased or anything).

And speaking of cute, last night Parker told me that he wanted to marry me when he grew up. I was tucking him into his fort (because it's so much more fun than sleeping in a bed) when he said it. I smiled and chuckled a little and he gave me this "I'm serious, mom" look. What a sweet kid. (:

Parker's Kindergarten Graduation

Parker graduated from Kindergarten on May 20th 2011! I was so proud! I might have even cried a little bit. (: He's just getting so grown up. He worked really hard this year and learned so much. He had a super fanstatic teacher that he and I both loved and lots of good friends to play with. He even rode the bus home everyday with some of the older girls in our neighborhood. I told him that I could drive him home but he really wanted to ride the bus. That's my boy. Super independent. Everyone came to see him graduate. All of the grandmas and grandpas and even aunt Jamie, uncle Adam, and baby Steven. It sure made Parker feel loved. He's not entirely sure he wants to be in 1st grade next year but I think he'll warm up to the idea this summer.

Easter 2011

The kids had fun hunting for eggs at my dad's house.

This was the best I could do for Easter pictures before church on Sunday.

Parker won this huge chocolate bunny from his bus driver. He was pretty excited. (:

Smells like what?

Funny story from Parker last week: He came in from playing in the backyard, stopped, sniffed, and said, "It smells like Star Wars in here". Apparently Star Wars has a scent. Turns out he was trying to say "starbursts" (I had lit a "fresh picked cherries" candle while he was outside playing.) I guess his sense of smell isn't quite highly developed enough to smell movies. (:

First of many...

tooth fairy visits to our house. Last month Parker lost his first tooth! I'm still not sure how I have a kid old enough to lose teeth, but it happened. Parker was really excited to loose it but not ok with Andrew or I pulling it out. Anytime we even looked at him from across the room he would put his hand over his mouth and run away. After we assured him that we weren't going to do anything he didn't want us to do, he calmed down a bit. One night while I was at a church activity he got brave enough to let Andrew pull it out. I came home to a happy boy with a missing bottom tooth. That evening (after a late night visit to the grocery store to get cash) the tooth fairy came and left him a dollar. His other bottom tooth is loose too, but it has yet to come out.

Makenna turns Three

Our little princess is one year older. She has the funnest personality and gets prettier every day. She loves to dress up in her princess dress, play in the sandbox, and swing. She loves Dora and Diego. Probably her favorite thing is to play with Parker. I am so glad that she's in our family and that I get to be her mom.
