A Big Thank you!

I just had to let you all know what a total stud my husband is. Yesterday I got called to jury duty and ended up being on the jury so I was gone from 8am to 4:30pm. Andrew got to be Mr. Mom for a day. While I was gone he cleaned the house, swept and mopped my floors, vacuumed, washed and folded two loads of landry, took some pots back to Sears, and took great care of the kids. Then he made a yummy steak and mashed potato dinner for the two of us that night. WOW! It was truly appreaciated! Thank you sweetheart!

Couldn't resist...

To ease the pain of the removal of my McCain stickers, I had to post this. Andrew and I were laughing our heads off! My favorite part is, "but this is hope, day one!" Nobody take offense, OK. It's just supposed to be funny. (:

Fashionista

This picture is so typical Makenna. She already loves to dress up! She almost always has at least her socks and shoes on (usually over her pajamas) and some sort of necklace on. Sometimes if she finds her clothes lying around she will want those put on over the clothes she's already wearing! She put this outfit together herself!(:

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Today Andrew turns 29! I love him dearly and I am so grateful to be his wife. I love you sweetheart! Thank you for being my best friend all these years. I wouldn't be who I am without you. Thank you for the love and attention you give our kids! We truly are so lucky! And thank you to my great in-laws for raising such a wonderful son! Happy Birthday my love!

Haircut by Parker

It happened in the one minute that I was in the other room on the phone and Andrew was in our bedroom. One of the classic sibling experiences. Parker cut Makenna's hair. I'm not sure what possessed him in that moment to get his safety scissors and give Makenna a haircut? Maybe he's been planning this for a while and he saw his chance and decided to go for it. He didn't even have his scissors when I left the room. I don't know, but it happened. Makenna came walking into our office hair all over her pajamas and at first I thought she had somehow pulled a chunk out. Then I saw Parker with the scissors, cutting the hair off a stuffed animal horse and standing in a small pile of little blond locks. He looked so ridiculously guilty. It was hard to be too mad at him, because it was just so funny. The damage isn't too bad. Most of the hair he cut was under her longer hair, so you can't even tell right now. We'll see how pigtails go today. One of his socks also got caught up in the carnage. Note to self, keep the scissors HIGH up from now on!

Another Parker story...

So, we have all been cycling through colds these last few weeks. The kids are almost over theirs and I'm still in the midst of mine. Andrew was making a chocolate cake tonight and he called me in to lick the batter off the beaters. Of course Parker wanted some too and asked if I would give him some of my beater. "I can't", I told him, "I might give you my cold." Parker scrunched up his forehead in frustration and said, "I already have my OWN cold!"

Sledding

We went sledding with the Barnes' family a few weeks ago and it was super fun! Parker LOVED it! Makenna, not so much.(: Mostly the kids just loved spending time with their cousins. My sister-in-law posted some pictures on her blog so I stole a few for my blog because they are such beautiful pictures (thanks Malinda!)
